Randomly Systematic Rabble

This tournament will be double elimination. I am using Tio Pro to run the bracket and random.org to decide matchups and course selectors.

Golfer: Super Stickman
Hat: French Beret
Powerups: You can only use the 7 powerups in the order that they are listed in "Achievements" (except we'll scrap the Hazard Swap so we can use the Nitro Ball. You can activate the powerup at any point during the hole, not just the first shot. The powerup doesn't necessarily have to be used, just activated (if you want to just activate the magnet ball, for instance, you don't have to actually use the magnets, just activate the powerup.) Only holes 2-8 will count towards your total score for the tournament (just like in the past.) If, for some reason, you don't use the powerup on a hole (or the correct powerup) you will get double what you actually scored on that hole or par + you score, whichever is higher. This is to prevent people from trying to "accidentally" not us a powerup and still get a good score.

Example:

Hole 1 - Clean Ball (10 strokes, doesn't count towards score)
Hole 2 - Sticky Ball
Hole 3 - Ice Ball
Hole 4 - Air Brakes
Hole 5 - Laser Ball
Hole 6 - Magnet Ball
Hole 7 - Super Ball
Hole 8 - Nitro Ball
Hole 9 - Clean Ball (10 strokes, doesn't count towards score)

My suggestion/vote is for Old Mummy Melee without the stroke bonus addition.

I was actually thinking that one or toque city. Toque city sounds very fun, but logistically I think it'd turn out to be a nightmare and probably not worth it. I'm down for whatever though.

I'll play matches and add another vote to this theme for me.

Looks we're doing randomly systematic rumble. I'll update the OP in the morning with a few more details. We can accumulate entrants until saturday morning when I start the tournament.

It doesn't say it in the description in the tournament themes thread. Was the intention to use all these powerups on the first shot, or just anytime on that particular hole?

Lunartic said it would be better to use the power-up at any point during the hole.

I'll play. When is this scheduled to start?

Ended up with a 9 on hole 5 Stickier Land, chucked a wobbly.

So I did, apparently!

After bollocking up the finer rule points in the last tournament and confusing the unholy shiit out of everybody, I'm steering well clear of any debates etc. this time around. I'll be content to play my matches and I'll put some time in to knock up another dodgy trophy, unless someone else wants to try their hand at some MS Paint madness?

I plan on starting it tomorrow whenever I wake up and get on the computer. It'll probably be around noon central time.

Since I'm sure it will come up, what is the penalty if you fail to use the powerup you're supposed to? For example, you planned on chipping into the sand then using magnet to hole out, but accidentally sunk the approach shot...

I assume automatic dq, is that right?

Seems fair. Or we can do some kind of penalty where you take double your score or double par so you can at least finish the match. Thoughts?

Yeah, I'd vote for double your score for that hole, and then you just move on to the next powerup the next hole. It'd a lot more fun to be able to finish out the match at least rather than lose on a DQ on the 3rd hole. Just my thoughts, whatever you guys want to do is fine.
