Picked up Mikey Shorts for free and got pretty hooked. I made it to #14 for best overall challenge levels score!

Did you get World of Goo? It's frickin weird but cool.

I picked it up back when it was on sale for $1. Ended up deleting it out of frustration
I can't quite remember exactly why, but it had something to do with too hard of achievements or multiple tiers of goo saving goals, and the toughest tier was too difficult for me to complete on the later levels or something. Not being able to get perfect on the levels caused me to commit the ultimate rage quit and delete it altogether haha

Edit: Ah yes, after searching, it was the OCD level challenges that did me in. Oh no, now I'm contemplating installing it again.

classic! It took me about 5 minutes of head scratching to work out what to do for the first level and I've only played a few levels after that. Seems like a good 'play when you're drunk' game.

Thanks, I downloaded that yesterday. The Room is free now since the sequel is out. I got it for free before but haven't tried it. Heard a lot of great things but I don't know if it's something I'll like.

Yeah I haven't had a chance to play it myself yet, but it's got good reviews etc.

In other Freebie news:

This is really fun!
I haven't shown it to my 4yo old yet, but I can tell he's going to LOVE it!

Thanks for that heads up. One of the first ios games I bought was Myst, but I pretty much ended up copying walkthrough videos just to finish the story because I had no idea what to do lol. The Room seems similar, but I'd like to give it a try.

EDIT: Aww, lame. You still have to pay $1.99 to unlock the full game This is for the pocket edition since I don't have an ipad. Is the ipad version different?

Not sure what you're referring to, I didn't notice anything like that when I opened it up. I played it for about 30 minutes but it's not really my kind of thing so I doubt I'll play it any further.

I thought I'd feel the same about Bloodmasque as I normally don't really get into these complex type of games that seem to have an excess of features (shiet you have to collect, set up and do etc.), but I'm surprisingly really enjoying it. Uploading my stupid arse face to use in the game is a lot of fun, the game looks great and the controls are easy etc.

Yep Bloodmasque is awesome! I enjoy playing the game and I also enjoy logging in to see that I've connected with several other players and got levels ups etc. without doing anything. If you're a Bloodmasque player and want to hook up in game, my handle is not surprisingly LUNARTIC. I should be easy to find:

Re: FREEBIE GAME ALERTS (and specials)

I've been keeping my eyes on these two games for a while:

They've both had fairly average reviews in the past but DOUBLE DRAGON has been updated recently to address a lot of the issues that people didn't like about it and BUBBLE BOBBLE is now on special. I was such a fiend for both of these games at the local convenience store as a kid, it would be a shame not to get them (even if the iOS versions are apparently a bit crappy). Now if only there was an iOS version of Wonder Boy!

Rayman Jungle Run (Apple Game of the Year 2012) is currently free:

EDIT: Played this for a while tonight and really enjoyed it. The basic game play is a bit like Mikey Shorts / Hooks but visually it's MUCH better.

FLAPTHULU
by Madgarden

[quote]Flap through the horrible gates of R’lyeh and unleash the Madness to open a portal to the eldritch dimension… or will the madness take you?

This is a Flappy Bird clone made by Paul Pridham of Madgarden Games (who also made Punch Quest) for the recent Flappy Jam.

[quote]flappyjam
deadline february 24th
make a hard, almost unplayable game
use assets inspired (not ripped) from classics
FLAPPY word or gameplay not mandatory
have fun, be supportive. hate must not win

I hated Flappy Bird (and that was after really trying to like it) but FlapThulu is heaps of fun. It's just as frustrating and difficult but I like the horror themed graphics and the sound effects really match in well with the tension of the game. Definitely check out FlapThulu, even if like me you thought Flappy Bird was a complete load of rubbish.
